I am originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and graduated from Edinboro State University of Pennsylvania. I have lived in various states around the country and even overseas in El Salvador, Central America. I started teaching right after university, but went for further education afterwards for Commercial and Advertising Art. Then, I began working as a Commercial Artist in the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area of South Florida, and later in Pittsburgh for about 15 total years. I did eventually miss teaching and changed careers again to become an educator once more. I moved to Alabama in 2018 because my daughter was living here. And was hired at Chickasaw City Schools in 2019 to teach Art and Spanish. (I am certified in both subjects.)
Here at Chickasaw High School, I teach Studio Art, Digital Photography, Graphic Design, and Spanish. I am very pleased to share my knowledge of these subjects with my Chickasaw students and help them learn how to be creative and skilled in the visual arts. It is very rewarding to see talent blossom and children learn how to draw, paint, create designs and advertising products on the computers in our new Mac Lab, how to shoot great photographs, or the excitement of learning to speak a foreign language.
